PORT OF SPAIN, October 10, 2015 – Caribbean Airlines advises that on October 10 flight BW 1511 between Tobago and Trinidad experienced a technical issue. The aircraft operating the service was an ATR. The flight crew followed all necessary regulatory procedures and as a precautionary measure requested airport services to inspect the aircraft before proceeding to the gate to safely deplane the passengers. This standard procedure required that both engines be shut down which stopped the air-conditioning system in the cabin from functioning for a period of time. Due to the heat generated in the cabin, five passengers were tended to during the deplaning. Caribbean Airlines apologises for any inconvenience caused and assures all stakeholders that the safety of its valued customers and crew is the airline's number one priority.
