Piarco, Trinidad, W.I., 18 April 2011 - Children in Trinidad and Tobago began their summer vacation preparations a little early as the Caribbean Airlines Karaoke Caravan rolled into Trincity mall on 16 April, one day after the airline launched its fares to Orlando for sale. Dozens of children packed the atrium in Trincity Mall to sing their way for a chance to win two tickets to Orlando, Florida. JW and Blaze were on hand to host the event which saw 18 children from all over Trinidad putting their voices to the test by singing their favourite tunes to the mall-going public. The eventual winner was Roxy Rojas whose rendition of Journey’s 1981 hit “Don’t Stop Believing” had the crowd singing along out loud. “Roxy’s amazing performance truly showcases the tremendous talent we have here in Trinidad and Tobago. What better way to highlight this than by having Caribbean Airlines – the true Caribbean airline -  showcase our local talent and to make a dream come true by giving a chance to win a trip to Orlando,” stated Head of Corporate Communications Laura Asbjornsen.

The promotion is headed by the Caribbean Airlines marketing team who will be taking the caravan to three more stops. Marketing Manager Alicia Cabrera explained that children in Tobago will also have their chance to compete. “The Karaoke Caravan will be heading to Gulf City Mall, San Fernando, followed by Gulf City Lowlands Mall in Tobago and it makes its final stop in Movietowne at Invaders Bay. The competition is open to children 12 years and under and has gotten off to a wonderful start. Each child that participates will also receive a token from Caribbean Airlines just for competing. We believe that this is a fabulous promotion not only to highlight our twice weekly summer service to Orlando, but to engage children and their parents to try something new on a weekend and to show off their singing skills.”

The flights will be operating from Piarco International Airport to MCO International Airport in Orlando  on Tuesdays and Fridays from 5 July until 2 September. Customers can log onto the Caribbean Airlines website to make their bookings (www.caribbean-airlines.com) and may also take advantage of the all-inclusive packages offered on the website. Customers can continue to receive full in-flight entertainment, meals and a generous baggage policy on the airline.
