Great Fete weekend will be off to a "great" start for vacationers planning to travel between Trinidad and Tobago, as Caribbean Airlines will be drastically increasing the number of domestic flights for the popular fete that takes place this coming weekend in Tobago. As it will be adding fifty-six (56) extra flights for the holiday weekend, the national airline is doing its part to ensure that those wishing to travel to and from the sister isle have a better opportunity to arrange their travel to Tobago, avoiding the extra rush in domestic travel that is associated with Great Fete weekend.

In addition to the twenty (20) domestic return flights already operating daily, the extra fifty-six (56) flights will be operated by Dash 8 aircraft and will be operated as follows:

These additional flights mean that the number of seats is set to increase by 2,800 for the Great Fete weekend alone. For the summer period, Caribbean Airlines will provide a total of 15,616 seats. This is an increase of 1,416 seats weekly for the two month peak summer period. "We are aware that this is one of the most important weekends in the Tobago events' calendar. Caribbean Airlines wants to ensure that the travelling public understands the extent to which we have increased our domestic services," explained Laura Asbjornsen, Head of Corporate Communications at Caribbean Airlines. "It is also important for customers to book and confirm their domestic travel so that they can be assured that their flight to Tobago is easy and hassle free".

For the summer period Caribbean Airlines has also increased its frequency to North America. Twice a week, Caribbean Airlines operates up to five flights a day to New York and on selected days, up to three flights daily to both Toronto and South Florida.
