Caribbean Airlines wishes to advise all passengers travelling on the airline heading to and from Piarco International Airport that several roads leading to the Piarco area will be closed to traffic tomorrow, Friday 13 March between 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. The airline has been informed that this is in order to facilitate a dry run of security operations for the upcoming Fifth Summit of the Americas,
The restrictions will affect traffic along the following:
- Golden Grove Road;
- Between Caroni North Bank Road and Piarco Roundabout and the Churchill Roosevelt Highway; and
- Between Mausica Road and Orange Grove Road.
The airline has been informed by the relevant authorities that there will be no disruption to any of its operations. However, it is recommended that passengers depart for the airport earlier than usual in the event that any traffic pile-ups occur. Travellers should pay particular attention to the diversions and relevant notifications in the media to avoid missing their scheduled flights.
