Caribbean Airlines would like to inform all passengers traveling from Guyana, transiting in Port-of-Spain that the Airport Authority of Trinidad & Tobago (AATT) has advised of additional security measures applicable to in-transit passengers entering Piarco International Airport.
The following security measure imposed by AATT will take immediate effect for all passengers whose journey does not end at Piarco International Airport and require transferring between flights:
• All duty-free liquor or any liquids in excess of three fluid ounces obtained before clearing security check points at Piarco International Airport must be processed as hold (check-in) baggage and carried in the hold of passenger aircraft departing Trinidad.
All passengers traveling on International airlines are subject to these regulations without exception. Caribbean Airlines regrets the inconvenience these regulations impose on our passengers but accepts that they are an essential safety requirement set by the AATT.
To comply with the regulations and avoid having to destroy duty free items, Caribbean Airlines has dedicated a Security Agent for each Guyana-originated flight to collect transit duty-free purchases and transport them back to the aircraft cargo compartment.
Passengers are asked by the AATT to comply with the mentioned restriction and are advised to contact their local Caribbean Airlines reservations department and/or Travel Agent for additional information on restrictions and security measures for International travel.
