Today, the Jamaican Industrial Disputes Tribunal issued an "Order To Refrain From Industrial Action" against JALPA with respect to the dispute between CARIBAL Limited (a fully owned subsidiary of CAL) and CAL’s Jamaican pilots, and in particular "that the industrial dispute shall not take place".

RESPONSE TO NOTICE OF INDUSTRIAL ACTION BY JALPA
Port-of-Spain, Trinidad, December 08 2011: Today, December 8, 2011, at 2:45 p.m. Caribbean Airlines was served notice of industrial action to be taken within 72 hours by the Jamaican Airline Pilots. The notice was delivered to Caribbean Airlines at the Ministry of Labour in Jamaica. It is regrettable that this action has been chosen, as the pilots themselves wrote there is nothing Caribbean Airlines is in breach of with them. We reassure all customers that we will make every effort to minimise disruptions should this threat materialize. Contingency plans are already being put in place to ensure all of our passengers have an enjoyable Christmas season.

When Caribbean Airlines publicised in April that it would be operating a service to Orlando, the airline also took the opportunity to announce that it would be working together with several organisations to give four children a dream vacation to Disney World. Four months later the project was finally realised when the first two recipients of the project checked in at Piarco International Airport to begin a fun filled trip to Caribbean Airlines’ third Florida destination - Orlando. Working with United Way, Caribbean Airlines was able to sponsor four children coming from organisations across Trinidad including, Raffa House, Hope Centre, The Couva Children’s Home and Bridge of Hope.

This means that customers should expect to see Air Jamaica and Caribbean Airlines flights advertised with the BW code followed by respective flight number across all media advertising, airport and booking/ticketing information. 27 May 2011, Piarco, Trinidad and Tobago W.I. - Days before the deadline for a notice of closure of the largest aviation merger in the Caribbean, Caribbean Airlines has finalised its acquisition of Air Jamaica. The deal was made official at the Office of the Prime Minister in St. Clair, Port-of-Spain, Trinidad. Minister of Finance, Winston Dookeran, and Jamaica's Finance Minister, Audley Shaw, signed the agreement which was witnessed by Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar, Attorney General Anand Ramlogan, and Works and Transport Minister, Jack Warner.

Beginning 01 April 2011, Caribbean Airlines will enhance its schedule to include double daily return services to Grenada out of Port-of-Spain on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays. These flights are in addition to the return jet services currently operated into the Maurice Bishop International Airport on Wednesdays and Saturdays, which continue onto JFK International. CARIBBEAN AIRLINES BREAKS RECORDS FOR CARNIVAL PASSENGER NUMBERS
Port of Spain, 16 March 2011 - Caribbean Airlines recorded ones of its busiest periods for the just concluded Carnival season. From 27 February until 13 March 2011, the Trinidadian airline transported almost over eighty-five thousand passengers. “During this period, if we take into account both our international and domestic traffic, the airline transported 85, 808 customers with the total number for international traffic standing at 60,129 passengers. The domestic operation transported just under half that number at 25, 679 customers,” stated the airline’s Head of Corporate Communications Laura Asbjornsen.

Caribbean Airlines Employees Give to Haiti
The employees of Caribbean Airlines joined the growing charitable efforts in Trinidad and Tobago to raise money for the victims of the earthquake in Haiti which tragically struck the country on 12 January 2010. CAL employees heeded the call and gathered in solidarity for their Caribbean neighbors by donating 13,750 dollars to the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies Caribbean Regional Representation Office in just under a week. Capacity Building officer of the organisation Marylee Ellis explained that the response from the CAL employees proved that every contribution, no matter how small, was important.

Disruption in the Fuel Supply for the Airline
Caribbean Airlines has been advised from the Airports Authority of Trinidad and Tobago that there has been a disruption in the fuel supply for the airline. High sulphur content in the jet fuel needed to power the aircraft has rendered the aircraft fuel unusable causing many of the airline’s services to be either delayed or cancelled. Caribbean Airlines offers 3 daily flights to New York this summer
Caribbean Airlines announced today that it is further expanding its service to New York City with the addition of a third daily service from July 1st 2008. Caribbean Airlines will launch its new t flights to JFK airport with a Boeing 737-800 aircraft, bringing our fleet to 7 aircraft of that type. Tickets are now available for purchase.

Caribbean Miles announces new Miles partner
Caribbean Airlines’ frequent flyer programme, Caribbean Miles has launched a new partnership with the Intimate Hotels of Barbados Group. The agreement was finalised at the Dover Beach Hotel in St. Lawrence, Barbados this week with six properties from the Intimate Hotels group signing contracts to host an earn and burn miles relationship.

Caribbean Airlines Starts New Flights to Venezuela
Caribbean Airlines announces today that it is expanding its network to South America with the introduction on March 9th of a new non-stop flight to the Venezuelan capital, Caracas. The new daily service is the first network expansion since the airline started operating on January 1st 2007.

Caribbean Airlines & British Airways Code Share Takes Effect
Caribbean Airlines’ enhanced flight service between Port-of Spain, Trinidad and London, Gatwick Airport took effect on March 25 2007. These direct flights are part of Caribbean Airlines codeshare agreement with British Airways. On March 25, flight BW2900 left Bridgetown, Barbados for Gatwick at 4:40 pm. The service was operated on a Boeing 777 jet aircraft.

Caribbean Airlines recorded a 93.9% on-time performance (OTP) for February 2007, surpassing the aviation industry standard of 85% and the airline’s January average of 92%. The 93.9% average included 13 days of 100% OTP and 5 consecutive 100% OTP days from February 5-9. 100% OTP indicates that all flights to all destinations departed at the scheduled time or earlier. The airline’s OTP average to date for March is 94.74%.
