WINTER STORM UPDATE
Piarco, 28 December 2010 – Caribbean Airlines continues to operate most of its planned schedule including flights to New York. Due to winter storms across the eastern seaboard of the United States, flights to and from New York continue to experience delays and cancellations as JFK International Airport Authorities are restricting operations into and out of that airport until they are able to operate at full capacity.
Caribbean Airlines is trying to ensure that customers who have been inconvenienced over the last two days are rebooked onto subsequent flights. In this regard, and to assist in the recovery process, Caribbean Airlines will consolidate its operations on a wet lease wide body aircraft. The Caribbean Airlines Call Centre will be informing customers from the following disrupted flights: BW 522 of 27 December 2010; BW424 of 27 December 2010; and BW522 scheduled for 29 December 2010 and the returning customers out of New York, that they will be re-booked on the wet lease flight.
For our valued customers affected by the winter storms in the United States, there will be no fees for changing their date of travel or re-booking tickets for the affected period.
The storm, which dumped 20 inches of snow in Central Park Sunday, was New York City's sixth-worst since record-keeping began in 1869. Although the winter storm produced blinding snow and wreaked havoc from the Carolinas to Maine, Caribbean Airlines remains committed to ensuring that our customers are transported to their destinations, despite the operational challenges being faced due to weather.
We urge customers to continue to refer to our website www.caribbean-airlines.com and log onto the FLIGHT STATUS section for the most recent information on their flights. Current Vice President Commercial and Customer Experience of Caribbean Airlines and Air Jamaica, Mr. Robert Corbie who has been acting as CEO of the Trinidadian owned airline for the last week, has been appointed acting CEO by its new Board of Directors.
Newly appointed Caribbean Airlines Chairman Mr. George Nicholas III, together with the Board of Directors, gave their full support to the new acting CEO, citing that Mr. Corbie has more than twenty-five years experience in the aviation business. “The new board has a fiduciary duty to carry out the vision of being the preferred airline of choice for the Caribbean.”

CARIBBEAN AIRLINES RAMPS UP INTEGRATION PROCESS – OPERATES FIRST FLIGHT FROM KINGSTON TO TORONTO
On 01 November 2010, Caribbean Airlines aircraft 9Y-BGI operated its inaugural flight on the Kingston Toronto route. The CAL aircraft, which was specially branded to service this route, contains the Air Jamaica logo reflecting the airline's acquisition of Air Jamaica earlier this year. The aircraft will be based at the Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston, Jamaica, and is set to operate the route under flight numbers JM 78 and JM 79.
Customers flying JM 78 were given CAL memorabilia and staff wore special pins commemorating the event which proudly displayed the tagline "One Vision, One Caribbean, One Airline." On hand for this important flight headed to Toronto from the Norman Manley International Airport was Chief Executive Officer Captain Ian Brunton. "We are moving quickly on the integration process and this is one of the most significant changes that will be seen by our customers in Jamaica. We need to realise those savings that will be incurred by this acquisition and one sure way of accomplishing this is to ensure that we have a flawless transition."
Meanwhile integration changes were also being experienced at two of the airline's major destinations. In Ft. Lauderdale and Toronto, 01 November 2010 marked the first time that the Caribbean Airlines airport team processed passengers for all Air Jamaica and Caribbean Airlines flights. Air Jamaica passengers will still see the familiar friendly faces of the check-in staff they are accustomed to, however, they are now suited up in Caribbean Airlines branded uniforms.
This consolidation comes in the midst of many new routes being announced by the Trinidadian carrier. From 10 November the airline will begin flying from the Maurice Bishop International Airport in Grenada to the John F. Kennedy International Airport in the United States on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Customers wishing to get to the New York directly from Tobago will be able to do so from 12 December 2010 when the airline operates its first flight from Crown Point International Airport. Customers can book online at www.caribbean-airlines.com , call the airline toll free at + 800 744 2225 or contact their travel agent to make their bookings.

Caribbean Airlines has joined a host of corporate sponsors in the quest to taking Latoya Woods, Trinidad & Tobago’s Miss Universe 2010 delegate to the international competition in Las Vegas. Ms. Woods visited the Caribbean Airlines head office at Piarco on 28 July to collect her ticket to Miami courtesy the national carrier.
In addition to meeting CAL personnel and signing autographs for staff from several departments, the TT Miss Universe 2010 delegate also met the team responsible for the outstanding On Time Performance (OTP) at CAL, as her visit coincided with CAL’s weekly Management Operations Meeting chaired by Chief Executive Officer of the airline Captain Ian Brunton. On 14 July, Caribbean Airlines along with LIAT and the Caribbean Development Bank of Barbados hosted the launch of the book "Don't Burn Our Bridges—The Case for Owning Airlines" written by Jean S. Holder. "Don't Burn Our Bridges" is the first of a trilogy dealing with air transportation, tourism and the socio-political issues documenting the history of Caribbean airlines and attempts to demystify the complexities of such concepts as deregulation, yield management and a la carte pricing.
Held at the Caribbean Development Bank (CBD) in Barbados, proved to be an auspicious occasion, drawing a crowd of dignitaries including Former Prime Minister of Barbados, the Right Honourable Owen Arthur, Former Minister of Tourism, Noel Lynch, U.S. Chargé d'Affaires to Barbados, Brent Hardt, British High Commissioner, Paul Brummell and Caribbean Airlines Chief Executive Officer Captain Ian Brunton.
In his address to the audience Capt. Capt. Brunton also stated that the book provides a unique opportunity to truly understand the intricacies of regional aviation in the global context; from a perspective of absolute clarity and astuteness.

Caribbean Airlines Employees Give to Haiti
The employees of Caribbean Airlines joined the growing charitable efforts in Trinidad and Tobago to raise money for the victims of the earthquake in Haiti which tragically struck the country on 12 January 2010. CAL employees heeded the call and gathered in solidarity for their Caribbean neighbors by donating 13,750 dollars to the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies Caribbean Regional Representation Office in just under a week. Capacity Building officer of the organisation Marylee Ellis explained that the response from the CAL employees proved that every contribution, no matter how small, was important. On the 13 January 2010, Caribbean Airlines Corporate Communications department issued an internal call to employees to donate whatever cash they could to the cause. Laura Asbjornsen Head of Corporate Communications explained that the airline was in close contact with the IFRC at the end of 2009 to discuss various employee charity programmes with the organisation. “Unfortunately it took a tragedy in our backyard to grow the Caribbean Airlines’ relationship with an organisation like the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies. We want to work consistently with the Caribbean Regional Representation office and this is just one of the ways that we can contribute”.
Caribbean Airlines employees also took the time to pray for those still suffering in the aftermath of the earthquake in Haiti. Yesterday, the company held an inter-faith service at its head office on Golden Grove Road in Piarco. Representatives from the Christian, Muslim and Hindu faiths were present, as staff offered their prayers for those affected by the natural disaster.
The airline advises that those wishing to donate can do so online via the web http://donate.ifrc.org. The website also contains real time updates and stories from volunteers on the ground in Haiti. Visit www.ifrc.org for more details.

Ralph Gonsalves, Prime Minister with lead responsibility in CARICOM for air transportation, were frank, cordial and productive and ended with agreement between the parties to put measures in place immediately for further direct discussions between the management of CAL and LIAT.
The focus of the planned meetings will be to explore the nature and extent of LIAT and CAL cooperation in the best interests of the Caribbean region.
